This class may be for you if you have chronic or acute back pain, hip, knee or shoulder pain, anxiety and stress, recovery from surgery or illness Sciatica or arthritis. It is also for anyone who just wants to break down the asanas (postures) to get a better understanding of how the postures resonate in their body. We will explore optimal range of motion of the spine and major joints such as hips and shoulders to increase mobility and stability and to decrease pain. You will discover how compensated movement creates pain and tension in your body. Gentle Yoga will help you to learn to correct your compensations so you can move with greater ease. We will also explore breath work, mudras, meditation and relaxation. Through this class you will begin to explore your patterns that contribute to your pain and tension in the hopes that you will gain insight into new ways of movement that can provide healing and comfort to you. This class is for anyone and everyone.
